SLS at Beverly Hills

The SLS at Beverly Hills, formerly the Le Meridien Beverly Hills will soon open its doors. November 17th will mark the official opening (although those who want a true sneak peek can now stay at the SLS for slightly discounted rates throughout the end of the month).

The SLS’s Exterior:

We had a chance to a quick look at the SLS over this past weekend, and we’re pleased with its transformation. We’re calling it “Mondrian meets St. Regis”, and appropriately so given the hotel’s design was done by world renowned designer Philippe Starck. Those who stayed at the Le Meridien before this transformation will hardly recognize its past. The SLS is bold in design, and although Mondrian-esque, evokes a new spirit of Philippe Starck luxury. The furniture is fantastic, and the design is modern and inspirational. For those W guests who are looking for something a bit more bold, edgy and luxurious, the SLS brand is truly fantastic.

We were able to get a quick peek at a SLS Signature Suite, and were in awe over the attention to detail paired with a uniquely luxurious contemporary design. Little touches, such as in-mirror televisions, spa inspired bathrooms and fun art trinkets all make for an entirely new approach to the high end guest room experience.

Guest Room:

For those of you who love a great pool scene, the SLS has put an incredible amount of thought into the rooftop pool, and we won’t be surprised if it becomes the next LA hot spot (despite a city ordinance that will require it to close at 9pm!) They wouldn’t allow us to take pictures, but just trust on this one- it’s something to be seen.

Pool Scene Rendering:

Although categorized as a Luxury Collection Property in the Starwood family of Brands, we wouldn’t be surprised to see more locations if the concept is successful in Los Angeles.
